How Precise Does the Precision Group Make Their Logo?

“A logo is an illustrative message, symbol or trademark that has universal application to deliver information about an organization, product, brand or entity to its target audience.”

Boyke Januar

Every day, you can see communication materials from Precision: correspondence, brochures, reports, newsletters, forms, website, presentations, invitations, posters, gift items and other memorabilia. Each and every one of these materials represents the company. They unify our communications and help them give a clear and strong impression.

Why Be Concerned about People's Impressions?

Whenever a Precision Group unit communicates with its many audiences, it's an opportunity to make a good impression. First impressions often are the basis for people's long-lasting attitudes and opinions. Those opinions influence action.

What's Needed to Build a Strong Public Image?
Clear and consistent communications! If they are united visually, Precision Group's communications can present the many parts of our institution as one strong whole, one united team, and one vast, resourceful and diverse company.

Creative Services has been challenged to create a professional logo design and as an initial approach, we are focusing the new logo to be:

• Attractive

• Distinctive

• Relevant

• Reliable

• Unique

Before entering the long process, the creative team is divided into two: Team Ellipse and Team Submit each led by an Art Director, and each team will present their own concept and visualization.

The Five Steps of Our Logo Design Process

Design Requirements
The design requirements stage is the first step in our logo design process, in which we collect the design directives, briefs and instructions from the management about the logo preferences.

In this process we identify the services rendered by the company. Moreover, interaction with the management team at an initial stage helps us understand the logo design requirements.

We focus our attention on providing the services that help to enhance the company’s business activity.

Logo Design Concepts
The second step involves research and brainstorming. The Creative Director conducts several rounds of meetings and eventually our designers come up with sample sketches of logo design variations, based on the idea provided by the management in the design requirements stage.

To make it more easy on the eyes, the sketches are converted into presentable logo concepts which are shown to the management team. We provide four design concepts for this logo design project.

The TargetCore Eye
1. Concept: The Target
2. Concept: The Core Eye
Spiral
Diamond
3. Concept: The Spiral
4. Concept: The Diamond

Client Feedback
Client feedback is sought once the logo design concepts are ready. In this phase, the creative team aims to get maximum feedback on the concepts which will help us make appropriate revisions to them.

The creative team makes sure that we satisfy the client (The Management team) before we proceed with the next phase, as the management team’s feedback allows us to move in the right direction regarding the revisions, thus reaching a final logo concept.

The management decision was to choose The Core Eye and The Spiral as their favorite logo, but there are several notes that need to be considered. Yes, it seems that the creative team needs to go the extra mile to incorporate both concepts into a new visualization.

Design Revisions
Following the feedback, we make changes to the last two design concepts by exploring a more possibly visual appearance for the Spiral concept. The other step is also to combine the Core Eye concept with The Spiral concept into a new look and then finalize it keeping in mind the company's market identity, its brand quality and long-term future implications of the business.

Final Concept

Final Logo

Here you are with a perfect one!

After the long revisions phase is complete, including several rounds of long distance phone calls and presentations among the management, the final logo was eventually chosen: The New Spiral shape is the perfect one! Two elements have been blended, i.e. the core and spiral into one integrated shape.

Core values underpin Precision Group’s positioning: Progressive, Free, Stable, Dynamic, Active, Opportunity and High Quality.

The Activity Spiral concept is a description of the identity, which has developed with comprehensive precision and consistency. The spiral element is based on the shape of a target. The gradual spiral thickness creates volume, depth, and motion hence making the whole logo look very dynamic.

The whole shape represents:
The motion looks spiral – it invokes Synergy & integration, as each function needs to move (work) together to achieve one goal.

Rainbow colour – to show the different functions or services within the company.

Rounded Shape – it invokes Vision and Focus, to show Precision as a company with a vision towards the future. The company is striving to deliver the best results/services for its clients.

This Precision Group Logo represents a wide variety of functions. You may use it for professional or desktop printing, i.e. on your company stationery, websites, business cards, company magazines, vehicles, advertising, etc. To download our Corporate Identity Guide, please click here.
